What Makes a CMM Ready for the Shop Floor? See RUN at Elmia Subcontractor 2026
Jönköping, Sweden – November 10–12, 2026 | Stand B00:92
A CMM that performs well in a measuring room does not automatically perform well next to a production line. Loading is awkward, installation needs extras, and every extra component is one more thing to maintain.
That is the question behind RUN, Ready’s CMM range (RUN444 and RUN765), and it is what we will be discussing at Elmia Subcontractor 2026, Northern Europe’s largest trade fair for subcontractors and suppliers in manufacturing. Visit us with our Swedish distribution partner Precision Solutions Nordic AB at stand B00:92 and see RUN on display.
Eight design choices, and what they mean in production
- Portal structure. A bridge structure helps limit deflection and the effect of vibration in production. Rigidity supports repeatability.
- Fixed portal. The table moves while the portal stays fixed, reducing dynamic loads on the structure.
- Full front table extraction. The table extends beyond the portal footprint, bringing the component closer to the operator. Loading is easier and access is better.
- Robot integration. Front table extraction helps separate loading access from the measuring area. Safety depends on the complete cell design.
- Prismatic guides. Recirculating ball slides replace air bearings, so no compressed air is required and installation on the shop floor is simpler.
- Linear motors. Direct drive eliminates screws and rack-and-pinion transmissions, reducing related wear and leaving fewer components to maintain.
- Independent X and Y axes. Rather than stacked axes, independent axes enable linear thermal compensation without one axis affecting the other.
- Touch interface. Programming via touch screen, CAD import and DMIS compatibility, with free-form spline measurement included.
Who should come by the stand
If you run a subcontracting business, supply parts to demanding customers, or are planning a new inspection station, bring a part drawing and your questions. Our team and PSN AB will be happy to talk through how RUN could fit your workflow, from manual loading today to automated loading tomorrow.
